Glendowie hotel terms
All accommodation is offered subject to availability at time of receipt of deposit, and at tariffs applicable according to season.
Deposits are £10 per person and are non refundable or transferable
Account balance must be paid in full on arrival in cash or by credit/debit card
Meal times are pre-arranged and no allowance can be made for meals not taken.
The proprietors cannot accept responsibility for loss of guests property, unless handed in for safe custody.
There is on street car parking at the front of our hotel, this is free parking subject to availability, if there are no free spaces please just pull up at front of our Hotel whilst you unload. The traffic wardens allow you reasonable time to unload. Once you have unloaded you can park in the Public Car Park which is just 60 yards down the road which is pay and display.
Check in is from 2:00pm to 6:00pm - your welcome to check in at an earlier time but if your room/s are not ready then you are free to use any of our facilities like the lounge and bar and we can store your luggage. On check in we prefer that you settle any outstanding account for your full stay. Guests intending to check in later than 6:00pm must inform us of an approx arrival time.
On day of departure please vacate your room by 10:30am - this gives us time to prepare it for any new guests arriving on the same day. We can store your luggage for you to collect at any later time that same day.
We appreciate your business and are keen to learn ways we can improve things. If you are not delighted about any aspect of our service we would like to know. You are encouraged to speak to us directly so we can put this right.
The New Smoke free Law on 1st July 2007:
From the 1st July 2007, the Glendowie Hotel will become a NON smoking Hotel in all areas. and unfortunately also we have made the decision to extend this ban to all of our bedrooms, it will be very difficult to allow smoking in bedrooms without second hand smoke spreading into other bedrooms and public areas. It will be against the law to smoke in our Bar Area, Dining Room, Corridors and Bedrooms "including heads sticking out of our bedroom windows to smoke"
Anyone who does not comply with the new smoke free law will be committing a criminal offence.
Any Guests caught or Suspicions of having been smoking in any public areas of the hotel, will be asked to leave the premises, and the booking will be cancelled with all charges due. if this applies to bedrooms a further charge for Cleaning/Non revenue of the bedroom whilst it is not in use (it will not be possible for us to re-let any room until the smell of smoke has cleared) this can be up to a maximum of 2 nights room rates. If we only notice smoking has taken place in the bedroom after check-out, your credit card will be charged with the additional nights mentioned above. This isn't our choice - we are very sorry to have to introduce these extra fines, we are only asking you to respect the new law, and we have to safe guard our Premises License and Business Revenue.
Damage Caused by Guests:
By making a booking with us the person who provides credit/debit card details agrees that we may charge any credit or debit card provided for any damage caused accidentally or maliciously to your room or any part of the hotel by any of your party during your stay. In the case of severe malicious damage, criminal proceedings will be instigated. in such cases your group will be asked to leave the premises, no refunds shall be given.
In the event that you need to cancel your booking we the proprietors must receive notice by the lead guest, either by Telephone, email or written letter.
If you cancel at least 10 days before your arrival date the cancellation charge fee is the deposit paid.
In the event of any cancellation or curtailment, should we not receive 10 days notice prior to your booking date the group organiser will be liable to pay the total cost as per reservation.
If the deposit has been paid using a credit card authorised account number, then any payment due, owing to cancellation, will also be made on this same account number by the proprietor.
The proprietors reserve the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract should the conduct of any person who is part to that contract cause any detriment to the wellbeing or comfort of other guests.
Child discount applies to children age 12 or less and only when sharing with 2 full paying adults (1 child under 2 stays free)
Group Bonds may be asked for by the hotel management and are refundable on check out if no damage, mess or excessive noise or nuisance is not caused by any member of that group.
Please note: it only takes one person in your group to cause damage or create a disturbance towards other guests, this will result in he or she losing your full bond and in severe cases your group will be asked to leave our premises (no matter what time it is day or night) and no refunds shall be given.
Sorry no food or drink to be brought onto our premises at any time during your stay with us. Noise must be kept to a minimum at all times Non registered guests are not allowed into our premises at any time during your stay (charges will apply if caught) cctv is in operation 24/7
Room keys if lost will be charged at £10 per set
Price is per person per night and may change according to seasons, please check our prices before booking. A minimum stay of 2 nights may apply on certain dates, or a supplement may be added to accept 1 night bookings in high season and bank holiday weekends.
When booking your holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract and it is recommended that you take out holiday insurance cover.
The proprietors reserve the right to amend, curtail or terminate any contract should the conduct of any person who is part to that contract cause any detriment to the well being or comfort of staff or other guests.
